All of the abstract paintings exhibit strength in the skillful use of color that is applied with a staggering sense of immediacy, providing mood, milieu and emotion. Having been a circus ticket seller, hair stylist, teacher, sales consultant, volunteer worker... I know what I love doing now! It is when I am creating that I feel energized and 'at home'. Though I enjoy the buzz of being with people and making a positive difference in their lives, getting away to paint means a lot to me.
As a child I was extremely shy and I used to keep a lot of my thoughts, and emotions inside. As a grown up, I am open to making mistakes hence I am able to relate to others in most matters. Still, I have to admit that I find it very hard to talk about my works… I just prefer to paint and create and leave it to others to decipher how my works make them feel or think. We are all individuals and probably do not perceive things the same way.
People ask how I start on a canvas… I usually approach a canvas with anticipation… at times I have to contemplate the blank space and let it speak to me… At times, there are colours in my mind, some shapes and pictures . There is no homework and intense preparation… Usually I have no idea where the journey will take me. Being tactile, I do caress the surface of my work place and feel the emotions I want to pour onto it. Weird? You think? I just call it being uniquely me!
I wish that my work will touch your life and cheer you on in your own journey in life. There are a lot of positive emotions that I put into my work because I want to do my part in blessing others!
