Ronny Tomasoa
Singer, Entertainer
Jakarta, Indonesia
Ronny's singing career started in the 70s after he won the two top placements in a nation wide competition. Soon, he appeared on TV, radio and clubs and started making records as well with a band.
Between 1987 and 1989, Ronny went overseas and worked on the German based ship MV Doulos where he met his Malaysian wife Amanda. Together, they sailed to 10 countries and Ronny performed to live audiences and appeared on local radio shows. In Brisbane, a radio announcer made this comment: "Before I met Ronny Tomasoa, I thought he was a tall big guy because of his powerful singing... but folks, when we met, I realized he was barely 165 cm tall!"

Upon return to his country, Ronny was given the opportunity to record a solo album and went on to doing his fourth along with an array of mixed albums with other artistes. He was invited to sing all over Indonesia and continued to appear on selected TV and Radio shows. Ron was emcee, song writer, producer, judge, performer and director in various projects. At least 10 of his own original songs has been recorded and 1 of the songs was selected to be the main song competitors had to perform at a juried show whereby Ronny was one of the judges.

His natural talent for getting the perfect pitch was utilized and soon Ron sat in on recordings to help direct the sound of other artistes. He helped produce bestselling albums by the child singer, Nikita under the MARANATHA label.

Ron has worked with SOLIDEO, RHEMA Records, and SOLAGRASIA etc, performed live in front of 10,000 audiences, worked with an International crew and has extensive experience in the music industry.

Sadly, all these came to a stop when the Tomasoas had to leave the turmoil of Indonesia in 1998 to seek refuge in the beautiful country of New Zealand. Leaving behind their home, career, businesses, friends contacts and family... they had to start anew in a country where almost no one knew them.

Auckland,  New Zealand

As English is not Ronny's first language,  he kept a low profile and worked for SKY City for 7 years. He managed to find a few singing engagements and even appeared on the Paul Holmes show and Radio New Zealand. At times, Ronny would do some busking and the listeners were amazed he was not singing professionally.

With the event of the Internet, Amanda believes that there is still hope for Ron's singing career to be revived and they are hoping to find the right people to collaborate with.
With some help, Ronny now has a Karaoke Sound System for hire and is available to entertain at Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries and Corporate functions.
